Census Day
Start: 3rd Oct 2024
Duration: 1 day
Next Thursday 3rd October is Census Day when the government collects information from the school about the children we have on roll.
Some of our funding for next year will be based on the number of children having a school dinner on that day. Your support is always amazing on these days and really helps us to secure the maximum possible funding for our children. Remember that if your child is in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, there is no cost at all to you. They can even order a dinner, try it, and have a packed lunch as backup if they want!
The menu change is attached to this email. Thank you as always for your support!
It is really important that anyone entitled to Free School Meals (FSM) is signed up before next Thursday so that this is included in the census and we can secure the funding for the school.
The criteria for FSM is:
-
Income Support
-
income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
-
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
-
support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
-
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
-
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
-
Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
-
Universal Credit - your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
If you believe that you may be entitled, please do apply - even if you do not intend for your child to have the meal each day. It is a quick online application where you just need to input your National Insurance number. You will get an instant decision and the school will be notified if you are eligible. The website to apply is here.
